tooth pain
No one likes tooth pain, but it’s an important sign that something is wrong with your oral health. If you’re experiencing this form of discomfort, please contact our office. We’ll work to alleviate the pain and resolve any broader issues.
what causes tooth pain?
There are many different potential causes of tooth pain, including:
- Infection
- Decay
- Trauma
- Tooth Loss
While toothaches are felt in the nerves of your teeth, it is common for aches felt elsewhere to be mistaken for tooth pain. For instance, gum disease and TMD can both cause mouth pain.
is tooth pain an emergency?
When possible, it’s ideal to schedule an appointment with our office. That said, we know that emergencies can’t wait for an appointment.
If the tooth pain is severe and lasts longer than a day, you are likely experiencing an emergency. Pain may also be an emergency when combined with other troubling signs, such as a fever.
Even if we see you as an emergency patient, we will likely recommend scheduling an appointment with us at a later date. This will allow us to keep tabs on your condition while also diagnosing and providing treatment for longer-term issues.
